Acadience Reading K-6 or Acadience Reading Français is a literacy screening tool that is currently being explored by Mission School District starting with Kindergarten in 2025-2026. Other grades will follow in subsequent years. Acadience Reading K-6 helps identify students who are at-risk for reading difficulties and determine the skills to target for instructional support. This is in response to the Ministry of education initiative to mandate the early literacy screening of Kindergarten to Grade 3 students using evidence-based, standardized screeners with a recent announcement that a B.C. based screener will also be created soon. More Acadience screener training will follow soon for Grades 1-3 starting in the Spring of 2026.
